About Roppongi Hills

Roppongi Hills is a city within a city, a profusion of business and entertainment that rises in the Roppongi district of Tokyo. It's home to one of Japan's tallest buildings and many luxurious hotels, along with art galleries and an open-air observation deck. Opened in 2003, Roppongi Hills is in Central Tokyo.

Most of the skyscrapers' floors are occupied by office and residential space but the complex also features large shopping malls and a wide variety of restaurants. The tallest of the skyscrapers, Mori Tower, stands in the centre of Roppongi Hills. On its highest floor is an open-air observation deck which provides iconic views over Central Tokyo. Floor-to-ceiling windows on the highest two floors also provide a 360-degree panorama over Tokyo.

Hidden amongst the skyscrapers is Mori Garden, a little oasis of green filled with cherry trees. The upmarket Roppongi Hills Shopping and Dining is the main entertainment hub but it's also easy to walk to the shopping and nightlife areas of Roppongi district. Roppongi Keyakizaka Street has luxury stores from major fashion brands.

Roppongi Hills is a five-minute walk from Roppongi Station, either from the Hibiya Line and Oedo Line platforms. The station is 15 minutes by subway from Tokyo Station and 10 minutes from Shinjuku Station.

Roppongi Hills took $4 billion and 17 years to build and was conceptualised as Japan's premier mega complex. Yet just four years after it opened, the $3 billion Tokyo Midtown was unveiled less than a kilometre away, with a skyscraper even higher than Mori Tower.
